Funny Video

The background this video is: We were sitting around after lunch chatting in the living room and Katherine must have realized that we were not paying as much attention to her because all of a sudden, she started to do this:

Playing around the house

Nearly everyday afternoon we go swimming. Katherine is getting more confident and has her own style of swimming - kicking wildly and me holding onto her. She greets every person in the pool. Needless to say, we are getting to know our neighbors.

Our house is coming along. You will see glimpses of it in this video, but I'm waiting to do the big reveal till we have pictures hung.
Love you all!

Good day

I just had to write about what a simple, great day it was today.
Katherine and I got up and walked to the mailbox at 7am because it was only 85 degrees. We met our Texan neighbor with the dogs. We colored and played speed monopoly with Geoff - he beat me by a landslide. Elizabeth and Dan came over for the afternoon and we went swimming after Geoff had to leave for work. We had fun political discussions and enjoyed cooling off in the pool.
Katherine is quite the swimmer. She has learned to lead the way while I hold her, kicking her legs and she's starting to move her arms. She is getting braver to jump from the steps into my arms. She is always curious about other kids and wants to befriend them, but as soon as they don't respond to her orders, she throws a tantrum... ugh. Some unseen insult occurred this time and she WAILED like someone was breaking her all her fingers... We left shortly thereafter.
Elizabeth and Dan said goodbye. Katherine and I had dinner and got cleaned up. She prefers showers lately and in the shower she started singing Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, doing the actions (as best a 20-mos old can do them) and it was awesome. She remembered the song on her own. We read stories afterward. She kissed her hand and then patted every character she saw in the books. She saw that one of them was crying and she asked "what happened? crying?" and she patted her. A little later she grabbed a lock of my wet curly hair and said "prilly head" [pretty] and gave me kisses. When I said "I love you" tonight, she responded with "aluvfu." I melted.
Does motherhood get any better??

Hello again

Sending our love from Michigan!
Just relaxing.... That portable DVD player was the best investment we ever made. She has moved on from Barbie and now watches Finding Nemo everyday.
Visiting with family - Uncle Eric, Grammy Judy, and Uncle Bruce
Aunt Diane
Reading with Grandpa
Uncle Vic and Aunt Charrin
Swimming
Reading stories with Grandma. These two were inseparable. You couldn't tell who was having more fun - Katherine & Grandma or Geoff & Amanda getting a break!
How many times did she get to ride the carousel??
The happy culprits who gave Katherine anything she wanted...
Could you resist this face either?
Her face got beat up one day when she decided to do a nose dive off a kitchen chair...
Katherine brought new energy to the Temple Visitors Center when we accompanied a family who were investigating the church. The husband is a member and his wife and son got baptized while we were in Michigan.
Grandma gave this monkey to Katherine and one day she couldn't part with him...
This little boy is our friend and neighbor, Asher.
Tuckered out...

We will get pictures of the new house posted soon. It is currently a construction site, though each day we're a little closer to putting things in order. The fridge is still in the garage. I'm still painting the entertainment center so nothing is hung up or on shelves. Geoff is still tiling the kitchen, but he's almost done with the entryway. Then he'll get to do all the bathrooms... I don't know which will give out first - our money or his back! He's such a good sport. We celebrated his birthday with my parents in Prescott. We are so glad to see them.

This video is of everyone indulging Katherine with Abba.
