Growing up too fast

Conversations:
Me: Good morning, sweetheart. Did you have sweet dreams?
Katherine: Mom, dreams come true.

Me: Would like some breakfast?
Katherine: Maybe later...

Overheard as she read to her doll: Once upon a time in a magical kingdom (gibberish gibberish) share true love's kiss... For those of you up on your Disney will recognize that it's the prologue of Enchanted.

She is learning how to use kid scissors and but her natural tendency is cut upside down and I'm constantly flipping her wrist over so that her thumb is right side up.

Huge milestones at the playground today: She is no longer afraid to climb and figured out how to climb a reinforced rope ladder that was higher than my head completely without my help (though I want any nervous grandmothers to know I was closely supervising). She also hopped off the swings by herself when usually I help. She wanted to explore the drain pipes and kept dragging me over the rocks surrounding them despite protests. On Saturday, she saw several kids teams playing soccer and now she wants to bring a ball with us to the park.

Katherine loves the young women in our ward, especially her babysitter, Emma. At choir all the girls were sitting in the living room with their shoes off, so of course, she came over to me to take her shoes off and then went back to sit next to Emma. She sang when they sang and passed around sheets of music to everyone, exchanging one sheet for another over and over again.

She fell asleep at dinner tonight. She asked for some milk as she was eating her rice and all of sudden her eyes started to roll back and her head nod... 5:30pm... Guess we play too hard.
