My old roommate, Suzy, got married! Geoff and I attended her open house last night and were able to catch up with a lot of old friends. It was very fun. Can you believe that she is now a step mom to 3 kids ages 5 - 10 and the kids moved in three months ago?? What a trooper! She looks very happy.
Secondly, can you tell I got a haircut?? I cut off 6 inches! It's taken a while to get used to it, but I like it. Now, I look really tan in this picture and I'm not really. Suzy is just that white! (J/K)!
The best part of the evening, though, was being commemorating the moment when Geoff and I first met in Suzy's kitchen. It was night of Oct 16th, 2004. Suzy had just bought the house and we had a party to celebrate. Geoff had been set up on a date with a girl in his ward and they double with Fernando and Melanie, the girl's roommate. Fernando and Melanie got married, too, and we're all good friends now. It's so cool how things work out!

I came home from a workout to this beautiful scene one morning. It has been getting lighter earlier in the mornings and it's gorgeous. The desert is so peaceful.
With the rain, all of the land has become so green. This is a view from our backyard (including our neighbor's bougainvillea). Geoff has been building a vegetable garden. As of today, we have 5 stems of corn growing. We are very proud!
We had a wonderful afternoon with Nana and Papa this week. Lots of playing, chasing, pretending, dancing and sticker-ing. Katherine was in heaven! Many tears were shed after they left, but we will get to see them again next Thursday when we go up to Prescott for a night.
We're trying to transition Katherine to a big girl bed. She does okay at night, but naps are terrible! The following video is an example of just how well the quiet times have been going. When I approached, I saw this little tiny hand inching out, pushing her princess underwear underneath the door...
This next video is of Katherine and Papa dancing to Singing in the Rain. It brought back all sorts of memories of dancing with my father in our living room. Jingle Bell Rock was my favorite. I mean, come on - dancing and Christmas?? What could be better to a little girl? Of course, Katherine ordered us around, making us take turns dancing with each other. She even got Geoff to dance quite a bit... Has it really been since our wedding??
The last is an indoctrination video. Yes, it's true. We teach our kids any way we can to help them understand their relationship with God. Katherine loves this song regardless, but the marching makes it soooo fun.
