Things I want to remember

  • Katherine running through my parents' kitchen pretending she's in labor shouting, "Make it stop! Make it stop!"
  • Genevieve sticking out & curling her tongue all over the place as she feels her two bottom teeth growing in
  • Geoff still laughing out loud 5 minutes after re-telling a "Whitley joke" that's two years old (Whitley is a guy he used to work with closely and his antics continue to be an endless source entertainment)
  • Both girls busting a gut laughing as I catch Genevieve falling from a standing position into Katherine while we're sitting together on the couch
  • Splash fights in the bath
  • After bedtime stories, Katherine always tells me to find Dad and tell him that an animal is ready to hatch from an egg and she hides under a blanket until he helps her crack open
  • How many hours of Candyland could we actually play?
  • New games we are playing at the pool - diving for pennies, keep away, colors
  • Genevieve is finally branching out and letting other people hold her! She went to both my parents and Aunt Donise all week and then let 2 women hold her at church. She even held out a curtesy hand to new people but if they got too close, she quickly turned back into my shoulder... We're making progress!
  • Genevieve is an eating machine. She has not met a food she does not like. Geoff's new joke with her is saying "I am thick! I am chunky! I am HUMONGOUS!!!" as he takes her hand to gesture to her belly, thighs and a final Vanna White wave. She just grins from ear to ear!
  • Katherine insists DAILY that it's her birthday and continuously wants to make invitations & decorations for her birthday party DAILY. Our walls are cluttered with cut out construction paper and long strips of masking tape.
  • Geoff is listening to the soundtrack by the Chemical Brothers from the movie Hanna. The Sandman track is finding its way in to my sleep.
  • I am pacing myself on Pinterest. I LOVE IT. Given me all sorts of motivation for exercise, meal planning, organizing... now if I could just get over my fear of decorating, we'll be set!
  • Pranks and tricks - I gave Geoff two framed pictures for Father's Day. The first one I broke the glass after placing the pictures in. The second one toppled over within a day because the stand wasn't big enough and the frame split in two. I bought a second frame with a larger stand and went to the hardware store to replace the glass. The stand sat crooked and I cut the glass a half inch too short... Ugh. The pictures are adorable though!
  • We got Geoff fishing gear for his birthday. The man is set!! Katherine got him a present only she knew that he had secretly wanted - a craft kit where you paint 3 toy DIVA puppies of your very own. Geoff is sooo nice to let her play with his present every day since they painted together.
