Geoff is in Detroit right now for Grandma Marie Bergeron's funeral. We are very sad at her passing and I'm really grateful that Geoff is able to be with the family. Marie was a wonderful woman with so much spunk and sass. I adored her and appreciated her humor. I am remiss that I let her talk me out of taking a picture with her when we visited Detroit in July. She and Katherine hit it off really well. I hope Geoff will come home with more pictures of the family when he returns on Tuesday (hint, hint).
Since New Years all of my free time has been consumed by Twilight. I have enjoyed the series so much that I'm even reading the online link to Midnight Sun... My family has sorely been neglected. One time Katherine fell asleep from exhaustion trying to nudge her little way between me and my book! There, there, little monkey... Mama will come out of her book coma soon...
Katherine received a set of plates, bowls & flatware for Christmas and has done a pretty good job learning how to use them. The mess she makes is always insane, but she's so much happier being able to feed herself.

This is what she gets when Daddy comes home and she is naughty!

What happens when she refuses to take her afternoon nap...

We had a Daddy-Daughter Day last week when Geoff took her to our neighborhood park. This is Geoff's favorite outfit of Katherine's. He dresses her in it almost every time its his turn. He comes out of her room, lifts her up and says "I give you
Stripey Pants!" It makes me laugh.

Loving nap time on our new couch

I wouldn't let her hold the camera...

Doesn't she look old? I am constantly amazed at how much she is changing. She has learned how to complete the shapes puzzle she received at Christmas. She wants to carry everything, no matter how big and bulky and awkward it would be. She is starting to say things that sound like
oh man!, no way!, shoes... She says
hi into her fake cell phone and tries to talk into my cell phone when I'm having a real conversation. She loves to look at her books. I started singing one of the rhymes to
Peekaboo Polar Bear and she went to her room and brought the book to me! This morning I caught her unscrewing my contact case (which was already empty), sticking her fingers into each side and touching her eyes! She makes friends very easily and is quick to tease and laugh. Sometimes I forget that she's only 1 'cause she has such a big personality... and then I think
she's already 1???
This morning... Too bad a lady at church decided to let her play with a red sharpie during Sunday School. She got a huge stain on this cute dress. Oh well...

I couldn't resist adding a little love note to my sweetheart when Katherine and I were playing in the backyard. He is everything to me. I miss him when he is gone and my whole world lights up when he comes home. (Geoff, love, I'm writing this
just so you will be embarassed and roll your eyes).
This video is just to rub it in to everyone who says "
Phoenix is too hot!!" It has been a lovely 75 degrees here all week. Wish I could same the for Detroit... Spokane... Seattle... Portland... Love you all! Come and visit!
(Oh, by the way, I did eventually notice that she was eating chalk)
...
I waited over an hour to get a video uploaded, but alas, it did not work! I will try again tomorrow, thinking I have a slow internet connection or something...
